Council Chairman says thank you

at Memorial Hall opening ceremony

At the grand re-opening of the Memorial Hall on Saturday 12th October chairman, Mrs Jennifer Als thanked all those involved with the project, including local fund-raisers and individual contributors, the Big Lottery Fund and Rother District Council amongst other grant givers. Special mention was made of the determination and commitment of the Hall Management committee and other dedicated Peasmarsh residents, Parish Councillors and the Parish Clerk. She also expressed the village's thanks for the professionalism of the project architect Dominic Manning and the building contractor Gary White Associates.

Community Around a hundred and fifty villagers joined the celebration which was opened by local celebrity, Andy McConnell of "Glass etc" in Rye and of "Antiques Roadshow" fame. Rother District Councillor Ian Jenkins also added few words in praise of the project followed by refreshments, and a chance to explore the hall and visit exhibitions set up by Peasmarsh Brownies about their activities and Robin Thompson's archive of historical photographs of the village and its people.
